Sunday walk
Every evening, Yvonne de Pompadour whispered in Monsieur’s ear that a dog would never be to her taste. However, the slobbering thing was offered to her one day, without any ulterior motive, and even without any thought at all. It was with a contrite heart she let herself be led at the end of the leash, leering at the yapping puppies. Henri never made the link between Madame’s walks and the dog’s bad mood.
